Greetings all!
So this is me, introducing…ME!
I’m the latest contributor here to RPG Musings and I just wanted to take my first post to introduce myself. My name is Jeff Greiner…although to some folks I’m best known as JEFF GREINER!.
I’ve been a gamer for a long time. I started with AD&D when I was 8 years old. From there I played around with Warhammer Fantasy, Dark Horizons, Shadowrun, Mage, Vampire, Marvel Superheroes, Earthdawn, Rolemaster, Boot Hill, Pathfinder and more, not to mention various board games. But I always came back to D&D. It was my first love, my true love.
I’ve also been in the online D&D community for some time now. I’m the founder of the long running D&D podcast, The Tome Show and the publisher of the D&D Player-focused site called Temporary Hit Points…as well as a founder of the site for gamer fathers, D&D&Dads. I also occasionally contribute to the Troll in the Corner with my series of articles called “Greatest Ever”. So yeah, I’m a busy fellow (ignoring that I’m also a father, middle school teacher, and DM). So with all that going on, what the heck am I doing taking the time to contribute around here for?
While the websites I use cover much of what I want to write about out here on the inter-webs it turns out I have more things to say in the world of gaming. General industry things, design things, DM things, maybe even an occasional non-D&D thing (it could happen). I used to get a lot of this itch scratched on the At-Will blog, which was fantastic, but alas it is a site that is no more. So my buddy Sam (owner of this site and editor of the Tome Show) offered to give me a corner of his world to play in. And so here I am.
I like to compartmentalize my online projects, giving each one a specific focus for a specific audience, but it’s nice to have a place a bit more flexible to write when the need arises…and RPG Musings will be that place. I can’t promise I’ll post a lot…I can’t promise I won’t. But I can promise that when I run into that magical moment when I have something to write about and the time to write it, I’ll be here.
Here’s hoping you’ll read it…
